FASHION : CELEBRITY STYLE ICONS WE LOVE

Today's blog post is all about our favorite celebrity styles and why we love them! From Kate Middleton to Britney Spears, we have compiled a list of all of the celebrities who inspire our daily fashion choices.

Princess Catherine of the United Kingdom (aka Kate Middleton)

Who doesn't love a real life princess, right?! Kate is one of our top fashion icons because even though she is a princess, her style is actually pretty easy to imitate and capture. The thing we love most about her style is that not only does she wear designers that any girl can shop, but also because she recycles outfits just like everyone else. When Kate recycles her fashion trends, it makes her that much more relatable to all of us girls who admire her, not only for her work, but for her impeccable style as well. Kate also continues to add an edge to her royal ensembles that keeps her current with the times!

Kate often wears Alexander McQueen, who also happens to be one of our favorite designers, along with Jenny Packham, Burberry, Issa, Max Mara, Tory Burch, Zara, Stuart Weitzman, and L K Bennett. Perhaps the most relatable designer that Kate chooses, though, is TopShop. Yes, that's right! Kate Middleton shops at TopShop just like the rest of us. It is things like this that make her even more of a style icon, not simply because she is a real princess (although it definitely does boost her up), but because she knows how to mix couture designers with everyday brands.

Britney Spears (aka Queen of Everything)

Britney Spears. Need we say more? Britney has been the queen of pop culture fashion for the past twenty years, always bringing out show-stopping outfits that are still being talked about to this day. We love that Britney's style focus is that she has always been setting the trends instead of following them, she never seemed to care about what anyone else was wearing. I mean, how many of us started wearing glitter and rhinestones on our bodies and faces because of Britney - I know I surely did! She has even mastered the creative and constant re-invention of the classic Little Black Dress over the years like no one else. Britney and her style team have continued to create innovative ways of sporting designer brands with everyday brands.

The thing we seem to love the most about Britney's style, though, is that like all girls, she is dolled up during her work day and in comfy, casual wear in her down time. That's right, Britney wears Target and other affordable clothing brands just like the rest of us. We have seen photos of her shopping in normal stores over the years, sporting tank tops, t-shirts, denim shorts and active wear on a daily. It is Britney's ability to mix high fashion on the red carpet with casual wear in her daily life that makes us love and admire her style so much.

Lady Gaga (aka The Dark Art)

The New York-Italian girl with the freakish style. When Lady Gaga first broke out on the music scene, everyone thought she was a fad, but the truth was, Gaga was about to cause a fashion show on the streets. Lady Gaga, in our opinion, became a fashion icon between 2009 and 2013. She mixed being a pop star with her morbid sense of art and created a style that was unlike anything that any other celebrity was doing. Leather, lace, and studs were the focal points of her street outfits and stage costumes, all by which were often accompanied with sunglasses and her signature platinum blonde hair.

Zoë Saldana (aka Red Carpet Beauty)

Who doesn't love a classic, right?! That's how we feel about Zoë's style! Her red carpet fashion is always high class with a bit of sass. Zoë has mastered the art of mixing that classic style with a bit of edge, which is exactly why we love her fashion choices. She adds an extra touch to all of her red carpet outfits by mixing in simple things such as a blonde streak in her hair, a lace detail on her dress or a patent boot, Zoë has always presented a refreshing style. We also love the ways that she consistently underplays her makeup choices, which draw that much more attention to her outfits. When she does dramatize her makeup, she goes for a bold lip color which serves as the perfect accent to her classic edge.

Hilary Duff (aka Girl Rocker)

Yes, we are millennials here at ELECTRIC and we still love Lizzie McGuire... we mean Hilary Duff. Hilary has managed to maintain a great style throughout the years, as a tween, teen and now as an adult. Whether she's going out at night, running errands, or walking a red carpet, Hilary is always fashion forward and perfectly styled. What we love most about Hilary's style is that she is consistent with wearing outfits that all of us can pull together and attain. Hilary has gone through different body types in her career and with that, she has continued to accent her shape through different clothing and trends. Hilary is also one of our girl crush styles because of her tendency to put a rocker twist to her outfits, from leather pants to leather jackets and ripped jeans. We also love that Hilary has never been afraid to mix girly with edgy or stylish with comfy. Hilary's style has always stayed age appropriate as well, which is definitely a bonus in the industry. We see so many celebrities who try way too hard to be "sexy" at such young ages, but that has never been the case with this fashionista. Hilary Duff has continued to be someone we can look to for an appropriate yet fun style!
