This month's PLAY! by Sephora is definitely closer to what I had hoped for when our company gained a subscription for this beauty box. When we received our first box last month, I was honestly disappointed a bit that there was only one makeup product, so I was very pleased to see the shift in this month's box. While Sephora does carry various types of beauty and wellness products, their most famous category is makeup, so I love that this month's box is geared more towards that.

AMIKA Perk Up Dry Shampoo
This Amika Perk Up dry shampoo is something I would recommend if you are looking for a dry shampoo product that works as a styling spray as well. Available in a generous 5.3oz at $25, it is definitely an affordable beauty product, which is always a plus. Personally, as a color treated blonde, I prefer the old school "dry shampoo" remedy of corn starch powder and a tiny spritz of styling spray, but I do think this item is a great purchase.
MAISON MARGIELA 'Replica' by The Fireplace
I have to be completely honest about this product because I did not like it at all. Personally, I thought the smell was a bit too strong and when researching this Maison Marginal perfume, I found it to be overpriced. The product is available in a 3.4oz at $126 or in a mini 0.34oz size at $28. Most luxury, good quality perfumes and scents price at the $70 - $100 range, which is why I found this product to be a bit too expensive.
DR. JART+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30
When researching this Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass product what I loved is that it is free of Parabens, Phthalates, and most importantly, Sulfates, which is a major plus when it comes to wellness and beauty products. Anytime you can find products that are preservative and sulfate free, definitely buy them, it is much healthier for your skin and wellness. I also found that the pricing was affordable for this type of product, with a 1.7oz at $52 and a 0.5oz at $18. What I liked most about this item is that when applying it, is that it also acts as almost a makeup product as well. Not only is it a SPF treatment, but it works as a primer and blemish concealer.
MAKEUP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in R230
I had previously received a sample size of this product in a different beauty box and I actually really enjoyed the product. Although I use a specific foundation on a daily, I did like this Makeup For Ever HD Foundation as something that I can put in a travel bag for quick use if needed. The R230 shade is actually a bit dark for my complex, but paired with some lighter finishing powder, it definitely works. The thing I like most about this product, though, is that it is available in about forty shades, which is great. It is, however, on the expensive side at $43 for 1.01oz, so I would highly recommend asking if your local luxury beauty store carries a sample size that you can try before purchasing.
SUPERGOOP! Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40
Unfortunately, it isn't warm enough yet on the Northeast Coast to properly try this product. I am, however, looking forward to testing this sunscreen once we do have our first sunny days that are warm enough to feel the sun. When researching this Unseen Sunscreen product, I found it to be a little on the expensive end at $32 for only 1.7oz, but it does promise to cover not only sun protection, but fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness as well, which is always a plus!
SEPHORA COLLECTION LashCraft Big Volume Mascara
Here at the beauty blog department of ELECTRIC, we are all about mascara, so I was very happy to receive one in this month's box. The Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascara is not only affordable at only $14, but it is a quality product. I thought this item applied super easily and did not clump or bind, which is what you definitely want when applying a mascara.
