GLASSJAW - 11/10/2017 - THE FILLMORE - PHILADELPHIA, PA

There is nothing that ELECTRIC loves more then a Daryl Palumbo concert and this past Friday night at The Fillmore did not disappoint. Palumbo, on a small tour with his band, Glassjaw, was beyond perfect (in our humble opinion) and a dream, as usual.
Glassjaw, Palumbo's original band from the early 90s, is just one of his various music projects that he has bestowed upon his adoring fans. (We highly recommend listening to not only his solo work, but his bands HeadAutomatica and ColorFilm as well). As the venue darkened, the band entered the stage, which then began to illuminate in blue lighting. The band played an extended instrumental intro to"You Think You're (John F'ing Lennon)", as Palumbo quietly, but visibly, hyped himself up. A mix of yoga stretches and jumps, it was almost as if he was preparing himself for a sort of battle. As the band progressed into "Tip Your Bartender""Pretty Lush", they then came to "Pink Roses", one of our personal favorites. The guys then moved onto "Jesus Glue", "Mu Empire", when finally arriving at "Ape Dos Mil", arguably their most beloved song. The first note sent the crowd into a frenzy, everyone cheering and singing aloud. The band rounded out their set with "New White Extremity", "Shira", and "My Conscience Weighs A Ton". They then approached their final song of the night, "The Gillette Cavalcade Of Sports", which exuded typical Glassjaw enthusiasm.
NOTE: Although we were disappointed to see Palumbo without his signature black leather jacket, we have to note that he was in perfect performance form.
